. . . so it began

In 1988 I cut my teeth in the foodservice industry working for an Indianapolis based company called Zoll Brothers (today known as ZESCO). I was fresh out of school doing drawings on a drafting board with a pencil and a parallel bar. I lived by the draftsman creed:

"Never draw more in the morning than you can erase in the afternoon."

Under the tutelage of my dear friend Alan Miltenberger, I quickly learned how to layout kitchens; how food products should flow thru a efficiently through the facility. It just made sense to me and I grew to have an affect for the industry. It was there that I was given a computer with this program called AutoCad and was told; "learn how to use it or we'll find someone who will".  I did and never looked back at the old drafting board.

After 5 years of working there, I was offered a job to go to work for a engineering firm where I created drawings for airport landing systems and navigational aids. However, the foodservice industry had gotten into my blood and I was always looked for a path back.

So as a way for a young married man to earn extra money and make ends meet, I bought a computer and my own copy of AutoCAD and started doing drawings on the side. In those days a second job was referred to as a "Moon Light" job. As a tongue in cheek way of paying homage to what I was doing, the name seemed obvious to me and MoonLite Graphic Services was born.

I began doing drawings for local foodservice dealers in Indianapolis. Then I was hired by The G.V. Aikman company as head of the design department and worked there for a little over 7 years. Due to an series of unfortunate events the company was closed and my dear friend, mentor and partner Alan Miltenberger and I started a consulting business called National Foodservice Consulting which is known today as Reitano Design Group.

After 5 years working as a consultant, I made a move to Allied Technologies, a manufacturers rep group working for Phil Powell designing exhaust systems for kitchens big and small. I worked there for over 15 years all the time maintaining MoonLite as my side gig. However, now I was forced to seek companies outside of Allied's territory.

This led me to do drawings for several different dealers across the United States. Working on projects in most of our 50 states as well as Japan, Mexico, Jamaica and Canada.

For over 35 years, I have worked in this quirky industry of ours. Most recently I was the Design and Engineering Manager for a division of Zink Foodservice called Z-Vent Solutions. In November of 2023 we parted ways and I decided to take a leap of faith and make MoonLite Graphic Services my full-time job.

I discovered from foodservice equipment dealers a need for drawings from time to time. It can be uncomfortable gamble for small to mid-size dealers to invest in a full-time drafting staff. What with salaries, hardware, software,

and all the other miscellaneous expenses. That's where MoonLite Graphic Services can help.

When you need me, I'll be there to provide professional, accurate and affordable drawings that get the job done and make you look good.

However, when you don't need me I won't be there, adding to your overhead and taking from your bottom line.

Let's talk about how I can help you enhance your service offerings to your customers and increase your sales.
